Charles Chaney
President and Chief Executive Officer
Chaney is the President and Chief Executive Officer of BmeCentral.com. He brings to the company an education in biomedical engineering, having experience in orthopedic tissue engineering, biopolymers, molecular biology, materials science, biomedical optics, as well as medical physiology.
Chaney, who earned a master's degree and bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, is published in EMBO and Lasers In Surgery and Medicine for work done in biomedical optics and molecular biology. He also holds a certificate from the University of Cambridge for completing studies in medical ethics and English literature.
Most recently, Chaney has designed a novel fiber optic system for invasive surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He is the recipient of several research awards, and is a member of The National Biomedical Engineering Honor Society, Alpha Eta Mu Beta, as well as The Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi.
Netnapit Hoonkaeo
Chief Developer and International Relations Advisor
Netnapit designs and develops databases, web architectures, and graphics for BmeCentral.com. Her extensive experience implementing database systems for the Department of Social Security in Thailand has allowed her to make great contributions to the evolution of BmeCentral.
Netnapit proved her talent for database design and network programming at the University of Southern California where she earned her master's in computer science. In addition to designing databases and networks, she develops client-server applications, automatic intrusion response systems for internet security, and simulations to test distributed systems across grids.
Recognized as an international leader for the Thai Student Association at USC, she has become a key correspondent to universities and businesses in Asia for BmeCentral. Her fluency in Thai and cultural knowledge of Asia makes her a truly international force.
Susan Perlman
Marketing Coordinator
Susan Perlman brings extensive leadership and advisory experience to BME
Central. As Marketing Coordinator, she fosters key partnerships with the
biomedical community and promotes services offered by BME Central.
She also serves as the Internship Coordinator for the Biomedical Engineering Department at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, where she administers and coordinators all activities for student internships in the BME Department.
In addition, Susan assists students in fostering their professional development skills and implementation of career goals at both Vanderbilt and BME Central. Prior to her Internship Coordinator position, she owned a consulting company that provided regulatory compliance services nationwide.
Bin Hong
Biomedical Advisor (biosensors, bioMEMS, nanotechnology)
Bin brings BME Central a solid foundation in biomedical engineering. As a
published researcher in both Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and Advances in
Experimental Medicine and Biology, Bin continues to push the envelope in the
fields of proteins, biomaterials, nanotechnology, bio-optics, and bioMEMs.
His leadership experience is extensive. For several years he worked as a
marketing manager for an E-commerce franchise. While pursuing his doctorate
degree in chemical engineering, he has become a recognized student leader
for the Chinese Student and Scholar Association (CSSA) at the University of
Louisville. He is involved in a multidisciplinary project for the
development of a heart attack diagnostic system, and has led projects in
cultural exchange studies in other countries. Also, he is a member of Sigma
Xi Scientific Research Society and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
Together with his engineering background, business acumen, multicultural
experience, and fluency in Chinese, Bin Hong provides a vivid and valuable
asset to BME Central.
Anshu Sarje
Biomedical Advisor (biomedical instrumentation & devices)
Anshu is ardently interested in biomedical instrumentation and electrical
devices. Having performed novel research in cell and micro particles using
dielectrophoresis, she recently graduated with a MSE degree in Biomedical
Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
She brings to BME Central extensive research experience in electronics,
micro-fabrication, and cell-adhesion/surface chemistry. She earned her
undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering form Indian Institute of
Technology in India, where she worked on embedded systems and Internet
databases.
With her keen biomedical engineering knowledge and sense for business, Anshu
performs research on the medical device and pharma industries while
providing strategic marketing decisions.
Pinal Desai
Biomedical Advisor (biofluid dynamics & biofluidics)
Pinal is involved in Biofluid dynamics and Biofluidics intelligence
gathering for BmeCentral.com. She is working on her bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering
at Michigan State University. Pinal had the role of Communications Chair
for the Biomedical Engineering Society where she helped broaden the
understanding of BME by marketing research and lab opportunities
available throughout the campus. Currently, she has a co-op at The Dow
Chemical Company where she is working on Epoxy Products and Intermediate
Research and Development.
Alen Zograbyan
Web Developer
Alen develops and maintains webpages and databases for BmeCentral.com.
His experience at UC Irvine has allowed him to develop functionality
for BmeCentral that is technologically efficient and easy to maintain.
Alen is currently working on his bachelor's degree in Information and
Computer Science with a background in graphic design. He has
designed graphics for websites, business cards, advertisements, and
commercials. Alen is a member and the webmaster of the SAGE (Student
Achievement Guided by
Experience) Club at UC Irvine where he participates as an Internet and
business leader.
Jiyeon Lee
International Relations Advisor
Jiyeon manages all correspondence between BmeCentral and science communities in Japan and Korea. With 20 years of experience working in Seoul, Korea, and 3 years of experience in Japan, she helps steer the international efforts of BmeCentral.
After earning her Psychology degree from the University of California, Irvine, Jiyeon accumulated credentials working for several marketing firms such as IGM Networks in Los Angeles. Fluent in Korean and Japanese, Jiyeon continues to expand the sphere of BmeCentral to Asian countries.
Brandon Rochelle
Technology Advisor
Brandon Rochelle is president and technical director of the New Century Group, a Knoxville, TN based company devoted to Internet and print media design.
In his role as technical director for the New Century Group, Brandon services both established and start-up companies by creating identities, customized databases, e-commerce applications, as well as overseeing usability studies to better assess the acceptance of web technologies with end-users.
Brandon graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a double degree in biomedical engineering and computer science. He also completed a minor in business entrepreneurship and management. While at Hopkins, Brandon focused his coursework and research on emerging technologies such as distributed databases, information retrieval and computer integrated surgery. |
