The BmeCentral logo is comprised of a solid wedge nearly fitting inside a circle.
The circle represents the biological component of biomedical engineering, the most fundamental shape of living organisms. This ancient shape symbolizes the flow of life, the cyclical process of constant motion and turning that produces and consumes. The wedge represents the manmade component of biomedical engineering, the carefully constructed shape that becomes a part of the organic form - man's attempt to simulate and recapitulate living phenomenon. The circle and wedge nearly become one just as the engineered component and human body attempt to seamlessly work together.
